
Bernard Monast Sensei, 3e dan
Bernard Monast Sensei holds the rank of 3rd dan black belt under the International Yōseikan Budō Federation (IYBF). He began his study of Aikidō in January 1978 at the University of Ottawa under the tutelage of Patrick Augé Sensei and Kaoru Sugiyama Sensei. Since then, he has regularly participated in seminars across Canada and the United States. He has been teaching in Granby since September 1989, and in September 1991 he founded the Yoseikan Aikidō School of Granby. The dōjō was formalized in August 2007.
In addition to being an Aikidō instructor, Bernard Monast Sensei is a certified Karate teacher recognized by the National Karate Association (NKA). He has been actively training in Shotokan Karate (JKA) since June 1981 and holds the rank of 3rd dan black belt in Shotokan Karate. He also holds two certifications (levels I and II) from the National Coaching Certification Program (NCCP).
Bernard Monast Sensei is well known among his peers for his determination, perseverance, tenacity, and respect for traditional values—both in martial arts and in his personal life.
